How to install VirtualBox 4.1.10 on CentOS 6 / RHEL 6

This tutorial shows how to install VirtualBox 4.1.(Latest VirtualBox 4.1.8) on CentOS 6 / RHEL 6 via yum repository.

Step 1: Open terminal ( Applications ——> System Tools ——> Terminal). Change to root user.

[raj@geeksite~]$ su -

Step 2: Download the CentOS 6 / RHEL 6 repo file for VirtualBox and

[root@geeksite~]# wget http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/rhel/virtualbox.repo

Step 3: Move it to /etc/yum.repos.d directory.

[root@geeksite~]# mv virtualbox.repo /etc/yum.repos.d/

Step 4: Install VirtualBox 4.1 (Currently VirtualBox 4.1.8)

[root@geeksite~]# yum -y install VirtualBox-4.1

Step 5: Start VirtualBox using following command.

[root@geeksite~]# VirtualBox

Now you can start adding VM’s on VirtualBox.
